Hi everyone. Today I want to explain some drawbacks of the said above departments. Municipal comity, WASA and cantonment Board has very vital role of any country, whether if its developing or destroying the look of aria, town, city, province or county. If you want to explore the reason of development of any country, so you have to visit the roads and streets drainage system of the said country. Although there are many other reasons and scales to determine the development of any country but the mentioned above departments have the extremely positive role, because, when you visit any city or country the main source to guess the development of said place is how it looks through your eyesight. If its looks pleasant neat and clean and according to proper map structure, so the credit goes to the said above departments, but if its looks like a heap of garbage, so same credit to said departments as well.
If we compare the MC,WASA and CBA departments. In Pakistan CBA department is the worst department according to people survey report. By the way, other departments are also not appreciable but the CBA department is two inches ahead from other departments in drawbacks, because of highest tax collection, corruption and no one performs his duty in every field. As for as duties are concern in other departments we have the same situation but the positive thing is the tax collection is minimum instead of CBA department. That's why MC,WASA department has a little edge rather than CBA department.
Let me recall you the structure of the drainage system, roads, streets, hospitals, Courts, Jails, Revenue Department Buildings and their Lodges of British era, which are s till available fortunately as a model for us. so all of us can realize that what went wrong from us. Despite having the perfect structure of drainage system made by the British govt, where, we can remember that there is no blockage in the drains in any street or road in 80s/90s era with excellent engineering of drainage system, where the flow of water never stop due to excellent steep-level of drainage and cleaning system. but with the passage of time these drains were filled by stones and gravels along with garbage after the British era. Due to carelessness of these departments. In past the level of drains were around about 8/10 feet deeper then streets/roads level, but now the streets/roads level are slightly deeper than drains and its difficult to determine that where is road or drain during the rain. The officials of concerned departments do not bother to come on their duties but if they arrive on their duties they put all of garbage and stones from streets/roads into the drains, because its easy to get rid of garbage rather than pic and dump it in proper place. There is no check and balance for the cleaning of drains. let me also tell you that more than 80% of cleaning staff is deputed in the houses of officers and their relatives/friends. While, the officers of the departments are busy in photo session by visiting markets to show their authority to poor huts sellers by brutally terminating their source of earning.
What is the solution of these blocked drains? 1st of all the level of drains (which are built by Pakistani govt) should be re-built according to its actual engineering flow of water, because, we made tanks rather than steep-drains. the drains built by us has no flow of water. 2nd we have to pullout the big stones from the every drain from till its bottom-level, the remaining gravels and sands etc will automatically flow-out with the help of rainy water but again let me say that every big stone should be pullout from the bottom level of drain-bed and never let the big stones to fall in any drain in future but if the officers of these departments want to solve this issue then its possible otherwise no need to read this blog to waist your time.
